October 2023

Background

Looking to grow weed strains to inspire the most creativity. Cannabis strains that are good for artists, you might say.

With a friend, I’ll be searching for the best genetics to grow for this application, and also potentially making some of our own crosses.

I ordered Congo Regular and Nepal Annapurna Regular seeds back in 2021, from ACE Seeds, however none of them popped. They promised to send me replacement seeds down the line (no time-limit), and now the time has come when I can finally grow cannabis again, it looks like. (It can be hard to find a space to do so).

Coincidentally, when I asked ACE seeds what their best strains for creativity were, they mentioned both Congo and Nepal Annapurna.

Here’s is a full list of their genetics they recommend for doing creative work:

Congo
Honduras
Mauritius x Ethiopia
Nepal Annapurna
Nepal Mist
New Caledonia

They said they have other strains that are very creative as well, but that it would be difficult to get work done on them, as they are more intoxicating.

I’m very interested in also growing the Ethiopia, Thai, and Oldtimer’s Haze, however they told me those are more euphoric than creative. However would be interesting for creating crosses.

In the end, my plan is to grow the Congo, Nepal Annapurna, New Caledonia, and perhaps also the Honduras.

I also have some Nangarhar Afghani seeds I was thinking of making crosses with… but I think that would be better saved for more extreme sativas, like a Durban Poison or Oldtimer’s Haze. Perhaps it would cross well with the Honduras. I’ve never grown a landrace Afghani before, so was just curious to grow it more out of curiosity. I’m not a fan of sleepy indicas, but I hear the landrace Afghani’s aren’t necessarily so, they can also have some beneficial / kind effects. Something I need to research more on.

I have room for 6-8 plants, so was thinking two of each, and create crosses based on what males come out.
